Mirabel Streu has spent the last eight years developing a photography style rooted in patience, personality, and a deep appreciation for animals. Now a student at Whitman College, Streu continues to build her creative voice while balancing her long-term goals in both photography and animal care.

Today, her work centers primarily on pet photography, where she focuses on capturing the individuality of every animal she photographs. Her images aim to feel polished and elegant while remaining true to the animal's personality.

Whether it is a curious expression, a playful moment, or a quiet interaction, Streu works to create portraits that feel personal and meaningful to pet owners.

"My creativity is mostly influenced by my love of animals," she explained.

"I am drawn to the individuality of each animal I photograph — their expressions, personalities, quirks, and the way they interact with the world."

Her dedication to the craft has already earned national recognition. Streu received the prestigious Scholastic Art & Writing Awards National Gold Medal twice — once during her freshman year of high school and again during her junior year. The honors also gave her the opportunity to visit New York for the first time, an experience she describes as especially memorable.
